Effectiveness of the "On-site Application Service"... 9 out of 10 Citizens Participate
The application rate for the 'Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon' project in Boryeong, South Chungcheong Province, promoted by the government, surpassed 90% as of August 1. Nearly 9 out of 10 citizens completed their applications within just 10 days of the program's launch, accelerating the project's early stabilization.
According to the city on August 4, a total of 82,928 people have completed their applications so far, recording a stable application rate within South Chungcheong Province.
In particular, the 'On-site Application Service', which targets citizens living on islands with inconvenient transportation or those with mobility difficulties, is analyzed to have played a significant role in increasing the application rate.
The city showed a significantly higher selection rate for the prepaid card option compared to other cities and counties in the province. It is evaluated that public officials visited the sites in person to guide residents who had difficulty applying online and immediately issued and delivered prepaid cards, which led to this achievement.
The Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon is an emergency measure to support citizens and small business owners struggling with high inflation. Up to 450,000 won per person is provided on a differential basis, and applicants can choose from credit/debit card recharge, mobile Boryeong Sarang Gift Certificate, or prepaid card.
The coupon can only be used at small businesses with annual sales of 3 billion won or less, and is not valid at large supermarkets, entertainment establishments, or speculative businesses. Thanks to the consumption coupon, sales at traditional markets and neighborhood shops have increased, raising expectations among local merchants.
Mayor Kim Dongil stated, "The higher selection rate for prepaid cards compared to other cities and counties in the province is the result of public officials working in the field," and added, "We will continue meticulous administration until every citizen can benefit from the program."
