United States President Donald Trump has set August 8 (local time) as the deadline for ceasefire negotiations in Ukraine, and it has been reported that he plans to send special envoys to both Russia and Ukraine.

Trump's Special Envoys to Visit Russia and Ukraine

On August 2, the Ukrainian media outlet Kyiv Post, citing sources, reported that Keith Kellogg, President Trump's special envoy to Ukraine, will visit Kyiv again.

Steve Witkoff, the special envoy for the Middle East, will be dispatched to Russia. On July 31, President Trump used the strong expression "disgusting" to refer to Russia's airstrikes on Ukraine at the White House, and announced that Steve Witkoff, who is currently visiting Israel as the Middle East special envoy, will visit Russia afterwards.

Ukraine and Russia have held three rounds of high-level talks in Istanbul, T?rkiye, but have failed to achieve any significant results.

President Trump warned that if an agreement is not reached within the deadline, he will impose a second round of tariffs not only on Russia but also on countries trading with Russia.
