Former President Moon Jae-in visited Daeheungsa Temple in Haenam County, South Jeolla Province for his summer vacation.


According to Haenam County on August 2, former President Moon and former First Lady Kim Jung-sook visited Mihwangsa Temple on Dalmasan Mountain and Daeheungsa Temple on Duryunsan Mountain starting from August 1, revisiting places of personal memories.


In particular, Daeheungsa Temple is a meaningful place where former President Moon prepared for the bar exam in his youth, and the Dongguk Seonwon inside Daegwangmyeonjeon Hall became well-known as the "Moon Jae-in Study Room." He expressed deep emotion as he toured the space where he once studied.


After visiting the room where he studied, former President Moon stated, "Haenam is like a sanctuary that brings peace to my heart," and added, "I chose it as my summer vacation destination in the hope that more people will experience the beautiful culture and nature of South Jeolla Province."


In response, Haenam County Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan said, "Thank you for your continued affection," and added, "I hope you fully enjoy Haenam's positive energy and take home its bright spirit."


Meanwhile, it has been reported that former President Moon and his wife plan to travel throughout South Jeolla Province during their summer vacation this year, visiting Haenam as well as Wando, Shinan, and Gangjin.
