'Legend of professional wrestling' Hulk Hogan (real name Terry Bollea) passed away at the age of 71 on July 24 (local time). His cause of death and medical history during his lifetime were made public one week after his passing.

According to major American media outlets such as the Associated Press and NBC News, Florida authorities announced in a coroner's report released on July 31 that Hogan's direct cause of death was acute myocardial infarction.

Acute myocardial infarction is a fatal condition in which the coronary arteries, responsible for supplying blood to the heart muscle, suddenly become blocked, causing the heart tissue to die.

Hogan suffered a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Police and emergency medical personnel responded to a call at 9:51 a.m. that day and rushed to the scene. Although rescue workers transported him urgently to the hospital, he could not be revived.

The coroner's report also noted that Hogan had a history of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and atrial fibrillation, a type of arrhythmia.

Earlier, his wife Sky Daily posted on social media on July 25, saying, "Hogan was dealing with some health issues, but we truly believed we could overcome them," adding, "I had unwavering faith in his strength and thought we would have much more time together."

Known for his signature red and yellow attire, bronzed skin, and horseshoe mustache, Hogan dominated the 1980s and 1990s, leading the golden age of professional wrestling. He is regarded as the most iconic star in WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) history and is credited as the key figure who helped establish professional wrestling as a family-friendly mainstream sport. In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Hogan's daughter Brooke Bollea shared a childhood photo with her father, writing, "You were my everything, and I was proud to be your daughter. Thank you for loving me so deeply. Our bond will last forever."

Former U.S. President Donald Trump also paid tribute to Hogan on his social media on the day of his passing, stating, "Hogan brought joy to fans around the world, and his cultural impact was immense. He will be greatly missed."

Meanwhile, plans for Hogan's funeral have not yet been made public.
