At approximately 12:47 p.m. on August 1, a forklift overturned in Ipseok-ri, Sudong-myeon, Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province. The forklift operator, identified as Mr. A (in his 40s), was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and was later pronounced dead.
The fire authorities responded to a report stating, "A person is trapped under an overturned forklift," and upon arrival at the scene, they found Mr. A pinned beneath the forklift.
The fire authorities immediately rescued Mr. A, who was in cardiac arrest, performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and transported him to the hospital. The exact circumstances of the accident are currently under investigation.
A fire department official stated, "When we arrived at the scene, the patient was already unconscious and not breathing," adding, "We performed emergency treatment and quickly transported him to the hospital."
The police are investigating the cause of the forklift overturn by reviewing witness statements and CCTV footage.
