Choi Chungeun has been actively involved in the local football community, including the Gijang 60s Football Association, and has contributed to the development of sports in Gijang County. He will serve as the head of the club for one year and five months, from August 1, 2025, to December 31, 2026, and will be responsible for the overall management of the team, including the supervision of coaches and players.

On July 31, Governor Jung Jongbok presented Choi Chungeun with the letter of appointment in the governor’s office and stated, "I hope that Choi Chungeun will serve as a bridge so that the Gijang County Citizens Football Club can develop into a team that communicates with the residents."

In response, Choi Chungeun expressed his determination, saying, "I will closely communicate with the Gijang County Sports Council, the Gijang County Football Association, and the local community to address the challenges ahead."

The Gijang County Citizens Football Club has achieved stable results by securing a mid-table position in the K4 League just six months after its founding. In particular, the club caused an upset in May by defeating a higher league team and was selected as the representative team for Busan in the 106th National Sports Festival. Attention is focused on whether the club will create another sensation at the National Sports Festival, which will be held in Busan from October 17 to 23, 2025.
