A project budget of 1 billion KRW over two years starting next year
Imsil County in North Jeolla Province has been finally selected for the 2026 Technology Dissemination Blending Cooperation Model Project, organized by the Rural Development Administration.
According to the county on August 1, this public project aims to address current issues in the local peach industry and establish a development model for regional agriculture through a horizontal cooperation network among research, extension, and private sector technologies. The selection process consisted of a first round of document screening and a second round of presentation evaluation, after which the project was finally chosen.
With the selection, the Imsil Agricultural Technology Center plans to invest a total project budget of 1 billion KRW (500 million KRW from the national government and 500 million KRW from local funds) over two years, starting next year until 2027. The center will implement various initiatives to strengthen the Imsil peach industry, including establishing a stable production base in response to climate change, disseminating the latest peach pest control techniques, and enhancing on-site education.
The county expects that this project will foster the production of high-quality Imsil peaches, diversify peach varieties, and promote a sustainable peach industry, thereby contributing to increased income for peach growers.
County Governor Sim Min stated, "We expect this project to serve as a foundation for enhancing the brand image and competitiveness of Imsil peaches," and added, "We will actively promote projects that can provide tangible benefits to farmers."
