A Citizen-Participatory Festival Featuring Black Eagles' Air Show and Independence Army Songs
Reflecting on the Meaning of Liberation
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs (Director Namil Lee) will host the Independence Culture Festival, "Summer Liberation Festival: Shouting Toward the Light," at Gwangalli Beach on August 2 at 6:00 p.m. to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Liberation.
This festival, held in conjunction with "Night Race in Busan," will feature a variety of performances to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Liberation, including an air show by the Black Eagles team, a Taegeukgi (Korean national flag) performance, singing of independence army songs, and DJ and singer performances.
Additionally, there will be interactive events for citizens to participate in, such as distributing fans featuring the Patriots and Veterans Affairs character "Bobo," tattoo experiences, and the "Daehan Independence Manse" decibel game, adding both fun and inspiration to the festival.
The Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs will also host a photo certification event for the Independence Culture Festival on its event website "Yeogi Bohun," with prizes awarded to selected participants through a draw. The online event will be open for participation from August 2 to August 8.
Namil Lee, Director of the Busan Regional Office of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, stated, "It is meaningful to hold the Independence Culture Festival together with citizens at Gwangalli, a representative landmark of Busan, in celebration of the 80th anniversary of Liberation." He added, "I hope this festival will be an opportunity to reflect once again on the significance of Liberation and provide citizens with an enjoyable experience."
