Daejeon Heats Up 'Zero Hour Festival' Atmosphere with Floral Sculptures and Kkumssi Family

Rest and Attractions at Daejeon Station and Former Chungnam Provincial Government Building

In anticipation of the upcoming 'Zero Hour Festival' set to begin on August 8, the city of Daejeon is creating a festive atmosphere by installing floral sculptures, Kkumdori and Kkumsuni photo zones, and cooling fog around Daejeon Station and the former Chungnam Provincial Government building area.

The city plans to install floral sculptures and gardens featuring Daejeon's signature characters, Kkumdori and Kkumsuni, as well as the Kkumssi Family, at several locations: Daejeon Station Intersection, Daejeon Station West Plaza, and the front yard and central courtyard of the former Chungnam Provincial Government building. These installations are designed to offer a variety of attractions for both residents and tourists.

During the day, a variety of summer flowers and sculptures will brighten the streets, while at night, lighting effects will enhance the festive mood. In particular, the 'Kkumssi Family Photo Zone' at Daejeon Station Intersection uses the characters to encourage visitor participation and spread the festival spirit.

The 'Kkumdori Garden' created in the central courtyard of the former Chungnam Provincial Government building is also noteworthy. This rest area, equipped with a wisteria tunnel, cooling fog, and benches, provides a space for visitors to escape the heat during the festival period.

Park Youngcheol, Director of Greenery and Agro-Bio at Daejeon City, stated, "The Zero Hour Festival is a representative summer event enjoyed not only by Daejeon citizens but also by tourists from across the country. I hope that the floral displays featuring the Kkumssi Family will add to the enjoyment of the festival and serve as an opportunity to widely promote Daejeon's identity and charm."
