Boseong County Invites Visitors to Its Wellness Destination for Accommodation, Healing, and Experiences

'Reopening' of Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest and Environmental Disease Prevention Center Draws Popularity

Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, a leading forest leisure destination in Boseong County, Jeollanam-do, and the Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center, a specialized facility for environmental disease healing, have reopened after extensive remodeling, drawing an enthusiastic response from visitors and marking a successful new beginning.

This remodeling project, supported by the Local Extinction Response Fund, has enhanced the accommodation, healing, and experiential functions of the facilities, further elevating Boseong County's status as a wellness tourism destination.

The remodeling covered the following: "House of Floral Fragrance" (2 Jindallae buildings, 3 Yeongsanhong buildings) within Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest, and "House of Vitality Recovery" (5 buildings, 8 rooms) within the Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center.

Located in Ungchi-myeon, Boseong County, Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest features dense cypress forests, clear valleys, expansive camping grounds, and walking trails. It is a key tourist attraction that draws over 100,000 visitors annually. The forest offers a total of 26 buildings with 47 rooms and 50 camping decks, making it a popular relaxation spot for both families and group visitors.

The interior and exterior of the "House of Floral Fragrance" accommodations underwent a complete renovation and reopened on July 25. Major facilities such as heating and cooling systems, lighting, and kitchen appliances have been upgraded to the latest specifications, and improvements in exterior lighting and the surrounding environment have created a comfortable lodging atmosphere.

In particular, "Jeam Recreation Hall" has been transformed into a multifunctional forest service space that now accommodates educational, business, and networking activities, catering to the growing demand for workcation environments.

The Jeonnam Environmental Disease Prevention and Management Center, the only environmental disease healing center in the Jeonnam region, also completed its facility upgrades and reopened on July 1. The center was established to address environmental diseases arising from various factors such as global warming, industrialization, and changes in dietary habits. It is equipped with a range of healing facilities, including a loess and jade sauna, an oxygen room, a green tea bath, a healing meditation room, and outdoor foot baths.

The newly remodeled "House of Vitality Recovery" is an eco-friendly accommodation building that supports short-term health recovery programs. Its interior facilities have been fully renovated, and its function has been expanded to provide hands-on healing experiences. During peak season, a variety of themed programs, including family-oriented activities and wellness experiences, are planned to be offered here.

Kim Cheolwoo, the county governor, stated, "Jeamsan Natural Recreation Forest and the Environmental Disease Prevention Center are evolving beyond simple accommodation facilities to become Jeonnam's premier wellness tourism destinations, where visitors can experience healing and recovery in nature. We will continue to improve the environment and upgrade our services to ensure visitors can enjoy their stay safely and comfortably."
