The establishment of the council is significant as it represents a practical declaration by local universities to build a sustainable educational ecosystem with the community, and it marks the first step toward cooperation.
The universities participating in the consortium include Mokwon University (the lead institution), Hanbat National University, Konyang University, Daedeok University, Daejeon Institute of Science and Technology, Daejeon University, Daejeon Health Institute of Technology, Paichai University, Woosong University, Woosong Information College, Chungnam National University, Hannam University, Korea Baptist Theological University and Seminary, and Korea Polytechnic IV University Daejeon Campus.
The council aims to prevent local Neulbom instructor talent from leaving for the capital area and other regions, and to share the responsibility of nurturing talent and providing care within the community, centered around the universities.
The participating universities plan to integrate their previously individual Neulbom instructor training programs into a single joint system. They will also establish a system for pooling and sharing human and material educational resources from each university, and jointly plan and operate specialized Neulbom School educational programs that reflect the unique strengths of each institution.
Jeon Youngjoo, Dean of the College of Education at Mokwon University, stated, "The Daejeon-type RISE U-Neulbom project will be promoted as an educational model that reduces the childcare burden on parents and addresses the low birthrate issue facing the community."
Lee Heehak, President of Mokwon University, said, "The launch of the council is meaningful as it marks the first step for local universities to innovate public education based on coexistence with the local community," adding, "As the lead institution, Mokwon University will take the lead in nurturing talent to shape the region's future and creating an educational ecosystem where we grow together."
