Outstanding Performance in Learning Outcomes, Operational Capacity, and Satisfaction
Proven Competence in Work-Study Dual System Based on Industry-Academia Cooperation
Kyungnam University received an A grade in the "2024 Work-Study Dual System Joint Training Center Performance Evaluation" organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea.
The "Work-Study Dual System" is a program supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and implemented by the Human Resources Development Service of Korea. It focuses on strengthening university students' practical skills, resolving mismatches between universities and companies, and fostering field-oriented talent equipped with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
Since being selected as an operating university for the Work-Study Dual System in 2016, Kyungnam University was chosen as the top university (S grade) for two consecutive years in 2017 and 2018 in the "Work-Study Dual System Joint Training Center Performance Evaluation," and was also selected as an excellent operating university (A grade) in 2020. The university has not only contributed to nurturing talent but has also taken the lead in resolving workforce supply and demand mismatches between the university and the local industrial field.
As a result of focusing on designing company-tailored training, systematic operation, and fostering practical talent with both workplace adaptability and job competency, the university received excellent evaluations in all areas, including: exceeding and maintaining the target number of learning workers, continuously encouraging participation from new and existing companies, and achieving high satisfaction among both learning workers and participating companies.
In particular, the university proved its nationwide competency in operating the Work-Study Dual System based on industry-academia cooperation by receiving high evaluations for discovering and operating various industry-academia cooperation models that provide companies with opportunities to select outstanding talent and allow students to experience job roles related to their majors, ultimately guaranteeing employment.
Park Taehyun, head of the Work-Study Dual System Specialized University Project Group, said, "This A grade is the result of our efforts to enhance the quality of education in collaboration with companies and to ensure sustainable employment connections," and added, "We will continue to expand field-oriented education and training linked to local industries to foster highly skilled professionals."
