The recently completed "Wangsukcheon Embankment Observatory Walkway (Deck) Construction Project" was carried out to ensure pedestrian safety and provide a leisure space for walking. It was implemented on the upper slope of the embankment road, which previously had no sidewalk and was shared by cars, bicycles, and pedestrians.

This project, selected as a pledge project for the 8th popularly elected administration, was promoted with a special adjustment grant of 500 million KRW from Gyeonggi Province. The project created a deck walkway and observatory space along a 250-meter section.

Guri Mayor Baek Kyunghyun stated, "With the completion of the observatory walkway along the Wangsukcheon embankment, citizens using Wangsukcheon and those enjoying the Wangsukcheon water playground during the recent heat wave will be able to access the area more safely." He added, "We will continue to strive to create a safe and pleasant walking environment for everyone, regardless of age or gender, so that Guri can become an even happier city."
