According to Pocheon City on July 31, as of July 30, there were a total of 797 cases of damage from the heavy rain, including 185 cases involving public facilities (28.1 billion KRW) and 612 cases involving private facilities (1.2 billion KRW). The total estimated damage amounts to 29.3 billion KRW.
Pocheon City has requested the government to declare the area a special disaster zone and is focusing all efforts on restoration work through cooperation among the public sector, private organizations, and the military. In particular, military support for civil operations and the activities of volunteers are playing a significant role in on-site recovery.
The city has deployed a total of approximately 2,300 personnel, including 1,413 soldiers, 638 volunteers, and 305 city employees, to clear debris, distribute relief supplies, and support residents in returning to their daily lives. In addition, 653 pieces of heavy equipment such as excavators and dump trucks have been mobilized to remove earth and sand, repair major roads, and restore flooded areas.
On July 30, 30 volunteers from the Saemaeul Association in Jung-gu, Seoul, joined the flood recovery efforts to assist affected residents.
A Pocheon City official stated, "We deeply appreciate the dedication of local residents, soldiers, and volunteers," and added, "We will continue to work closely together to complete the restoration as quickly as possible."
