The National Policy Planning Committee, which is responsible for outlining the policy roadmap of the Lee Jaemyung administration, has entered the final stage of adjustments to confirm the final draft of national policy tasks. This week, the committee plans to organize the 12 key strategic tasks and detailed action plans, focusing on national principles, goals, and strategies, and will share these with the presidential office and the ruling party.
Cho Seungrae, spokesperson for the National Policy Planning Committee, stated at a briefing on July 31, "The committee is finalizing the classification of national policy tasks centered on the national vision," and added, "We are currently in the last stage of adjustments to share with the presidential office and the ruling party."
On this day, the committee held a meeting to review economic security following the Korea-US tariff negotiations, analyzed the impact of the recently concluded Korea-US tariff agreement, and discussed future response measures. Regarding the impact of this agreement on national policy tasks, the committee maintained a cautious stance, saying, "There will likely be no significant matters requiring adjustment." In addition, a roundtable was held with officials responsible for national unity from previous administrations. Lee Hanju, chairperson of the National Policy Planning Committee, and Park Hongkeun, head of the National Policy Planning Division, attended to explore measures for national unity.
Meanwhile, regarding recent media reports that the committee reported the financial authorities' organizational restructuring plan to the president, the committee commented, "While the direction may be partly correct, the specific details are up to the judgment of the presidential office," refraining from further elaboration. The committee reiterated that the integration of financial policy functions is under discussion in accordance with the president's campaign pledge.
'Moduui Gwangjang,' operated by the committee, is serving as a channel for citizen participation in national governance. At the 'Moduui Gwangjang on Wheels' event held the previous day at Jeju Sinyangseopji Beach, 93 proposals were received, including complaints related to marine waste. The cumulative number of visitors has surpassed 1.77 million, and the number of policy and civil proposals has exceeded 1.7 million.
Spokesperson Cho stated, "From tomorrow, proposals received will be responded to not in the name of the committee, but in the name of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission or the relevant ministries," and added, "Until the end of the committee's activities, we will do our best to respond to all proposals."
