A Symbolic Medium Breaking Down the Boundaries Between Technology and Art
LG OLED TV Expresses Color with Depth and Detail
On July 31, LG Electronics announced that, together with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA), it will hold the first-ever "MMCA X LG OLED Series" exhibition utilizing the company's organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology from August 1 to February 1 of next year. The exhibition will take place at the Seoul Box in the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, located in Jongno-gu, Seoul.
This exhibition will showcase a large-scale installation artwork titled "Agamon Encyclopedia: External Edition," which explores the theme of "Life and Desire, Endless Circulation." The work is a collaboration between media artist Chusu, the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, and LG Electronics' advanced OLED technology.

In particular, two ultra-large "screen walls" made from 88 of LG Electronics' 55-inch OLED screens will bring Chusu's artistic vision to life with heightened immersion. The OLED screens used in the artwork, with their precise color expression, vividly convey the artist's intended message and serve as a symbolic medium that breaks down the boundaries between technology and art.
LG Electronics supported the artist throughout the entire creative process with its unparalleled OLED technology. Beyond simply sponsoring equipment and providing space, the company collaborated on all aspects of screen design and installation to help realize the artist's ideas. Chusu's exploration of how to visualize the ever-changing flow of life and desire was embodied as digital life forms on the two ultra-large LG OLED screens.
The exhibition is based on a partnership agreement signed between LG Electronics and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in August of last year. Starting this year, the partnership will select one artist annually for three years, serving as a platform to present new "aesthetics" for the digital era, and plans to continue organizing special exhibitions in the future. The combination of innovative ideas from talented artists proposing new visual experiments and LG OLED TV, at the forefront of advanced display technology, is expected to further expand the expressive realm of contemporary art.
LG OLED TV models have been released up to the 2025 lineup this year. These products deliver overwhelming depth and detail with perfect black, and reproduce true-to-life colors even in bright environments. The displays in the 2025 OLED TV lineup have been certified for "Perfect Black" and "Perfect Color" by the global certification organization UL Solutions. In addition, global testing and certification body TUV Rheinland has awarded the industry's highest "Perfect" grade for indoor lighting image quality to the 2025 LG OLED TV for the first time. This recognizes that, even in bright indoor settings where customers actually watch TV, these OLED TVs offer consistently high picture quality, providing a viewing experience on a different level compared to other OLED TVs.
LG Electronics continues its "LG OLED ART" project, which promotes the value of LG OLED TV as a digital canvas for artwork and as an integral part of art itself, while supporting culture and the arts through collaborations across various artistic fields. Since 2021, the company has participated as a global partner in the world-renowned art fair "Frieze." At "Frieze New York" this past May, LG collaborated with popular American artist Steven Harrington to present a pop art piece. At a recent artist talk for world-renowned media artist Kim Ahyoung at the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the vivid picture quality and color of LG OLED TV facilitated interaction between the artist and the audience.
Oh Hyewon, Executive Director of MS Experience Marketing at LG Electronics, stated, "LG OLED TV will continue to solidify its brand leadership as a digital canvas that inspires art and provides unforgettable experiences for art lovers through its overwhelming picture quality of perfect color and perfect black."
