Gumi Agriculture Vows for a New Leap at the 2025 Hanmaeum Harmony Event

Welcoming the Era of 10% Agricultural Budget
Sharing Achievements in Infrastructure Expansion and Distribution Innovation

The "2025 Hanmaeum Harmony Event," which aimed to explore the future vision and sustainable development strategies for agriculture in Gumi, North Gyeongsang Province, was held successfully.

Gumi Agriculture Vows for a New Leap at the 2025 Hanmaeum Harmony Event Kim Jangho, mayor of Gumi, is giving a greeting speech at the 2025 Hanmaeum Harmony Event held at Seonsan Gymnasium.

This event was organized to share the achievements of expanding agricultural infrastructure, accomplished alongside reaching 10% of the agricultural budget, and to reaffirm the commitment to strengthening the competitiveness of local farms.


The city of Gumi has been working to increase farm income and enhance competitiveness through various support measures, including rural agreement projects, development of agricultural water resources, establishment of Rice Processing Complexes (RPC), and operation of agricultural machinery rental and processing centers.


Additionally, efforts are being accelerated to improve the distribution structure by establishing Agricultural Products Processing Centers (APC), expanding "Gumi Local Food Fair Star" events held at Seoul Plaza, and increasing the number of local food direct sales stores.


Furthermore, the city is focusing on health management and expanding medical infrastructure for farmers, while simultaneously promoting policies to improve the welfare standards in rural areas.


Kim Gwangsik, President of the Rural Leaders Association, and Kwon Myeonghee, President of the Life Improvement Association, who attended the event, expressed their gratitude, stating, "The passion of all farmers who are devoted to the development of agriculture has led to today's achievements."


Gumi Mayor Kim Jangho said, "I deeply appreciate the passion and dedication of Kim Gwangsik, President of the Rural Leaders Association, Kwon Myeonghee, President of the Life Improvement Association, and all members who prepared this event successfully despite the heat. I will continue to do my utmost to strengthen agricultural competitiveness and improve the quality of life for farmers by staying close to the field."


Going forward, Gumi will make greater efforts to develop new markets by revitalizing Agricultural Products Processing Centers (APC), expanding the "Gumi Local Food Fair Star," and increasing the number of local food direct sales stores. At the same time, the city will further improve rural living conditions by strengthening health management and medical infrastructure for farmers.


Gumi will continue to make every effort to protect the value of agriculture and enhance its future competitiveness. We hope that today's event will serve as a new turning point for agriculture in Gumi."
