Busan Social Service Institute Expands Safety Inspections for Social Service Providers to Include Disinfection

Support Expanded from Fire, Electrical, and Gas Inspections
to Include Hygiene and Pest Control Prevention

Busan Social Service Institute (President Yoo Gyuwon) is expanding its support to include disinfection services in addition to the existing fire, electricity, and gas safety inspections.

This measure aims to strengthen hygiene for users and workers at small-scale social service providers in the region and to prevent the risk of outbreaks of pests and diseases during the summer season.

Busan Social Service Institute has expanded the scope of its 2025 "Safety Inspection Support for Social Service Providers" project from three areas (fire, electricity, gas) to four areas, now including disinfection. As a result, the institute plans to establish a more systematic and multifaceted safety management system in response to rapid climate change and concerns about seasonal infectious diseases.

Disinfection services will be carried out through the Korea Disinfection Association during July and August, while the existing safety inspections are handled by the Korea Fire Safety Institute, Korea Electrical Safety Corporation, and Korea Gas Safety Corporation. In the first half of the year, fire safety inspections were completed at 88 sites and electrical inspections at 89 sites. In the second half, gas inspections will be completed along with disinfection services.

Yoo Gyuwon, President of Busan Social Service Institute, stated, "We expect that supporting disinfection for summer hygiene management will help prevent accident risks in various ways," and added, "We will continue to do our best to ensure the safety of users and workers at social service providers."
