Paju City in Gyeonggi Province has proven its outstanding administrative capabilities by achieving first place among 31 cities and counties in Gyeonggi Province in the 2025 Government Joint Evaluation (based on 2024 performance).

According to the results of this Government Joint Evaluation, Paju City scored a perfect 790 points on all 79 quantitative indicators. In addition, the city received generous bonus points in the qualitative evaluation for its differentiated best practices in administrative services, such as excellence in outdoor advertising management and utilization, excellence in reducing the use of disposable products, and excellence in creating a supportive environment for pregnancy and childbirth. As a result, Paju City achieved a total of 802.5 points, ranking first in Gyeonggi Province.
Paju City announced on the 29th that it is the only city or county in Gyeonggi Province to have achieved the highest grade (S grade) in all indicators for two consecutive years in the comprehensive evaluation of administrative services performed by local governments, including health, economy, welfare, culture, forestry, and environment, following last year's Gyeonggi Province city and county comprehensive evaluation.
The 2025 Government Joint Evaluation (based on 2024 performance) is a self-assessment conducted by Gyeonggi Province, which divides its 31 cities and counties into three groups based on the evaluation by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of 17 metropolitan local governments. This assessment diagnoses the performance of delegated national affairs and major national policies.
Paju City Mayor Kim Kyoungil stated, "Achieving first place amid increasingly fierce competition among cities and counties every year is a valuable result achieved through the united efforts of all Paju City employees, marking a major leap forward in administrative capacity during the 8th popularly elected term." He added, "Paju City has been recognized as a city with strong potential and outstanding administrative capabilities, having been selected as an 'Excellent Institution in the City and County Comprehensive Evaluation' for five consecutive years (2020?2024), and we will continue to focus on 'citizen-centered' administration going forward."
