21.2 Million Won Provided to 45 Students in 7 Cities and Counties
Educational Welfare Safety Net Activated with Psychological Counseling and Emergency Care Services
The Chungnam Office of Education has launched efforts to help students in the mid-western region of Chungnam recover their daily lives and support their studies following the recent heavy rainfall.
On July 17, the Office announced that it had provided a total of 21.2 million won in emergency welfare support funds, as well as daily necessities, clothing, and school supplies worth 10 million won, to 45 students from 32 households across eight cities and counties, including Cheonan.
Additionally, the Office plans to implement follow-up measures such as home visits in cooperation with schools, psychological counseling through the Wee Center, and emergency care and relief supplies using local resources.
An official from the Office stated, "We hope this will offer comfort to students and families going through difficult times due to flood damage," and added, "The educational community will work together to help students return to their daily lives and studies as soon as possible."
Meanwhile, the Office is operating an educational welfare safety net in all 14 local education support offices in the province. It is also promoting the 'Stepping Stone Classroom Happiness Plus' budget project, which provides living and learning supplies in emergencies such as natural disasters or accidents, using the 'Chungnam Education Love Card Fund.'
