Jeong Cheoldong, CEO of LG Display, encouraged employees by stating, "We must abandon the convention of accepting the recurring 'low in the first half, high in the second half' business seasonality as a given, and instead accelerate innovation through new ideas and initiatives to establish a stable profit base that can generate operating profit every month and every quarter."

According to LG Display on July 29, CEO Jeong emphasized this point while meeting with employees at the 'CEO On Air' town hall event held at the Paju business site the previous day. 'CEO On Air' is a quarterly communication event where CEO Jeong shares performance results from the first half of the year and goals for the second half. This event was attended by 700 people and was broadcast live online to domestic and overseas business sites.

CEO Jeong evaluated that significant achievements were made in cost innovation and quality improvement during the first half of this year, attributing these results to efforts in structural improvement and securing differentiated business competitiveness. Previously, LG Display announced in its earnings report on July 24 that it recorded sales of 11.6523 trillion won and an operating loss of 82.6 billion won in the first half of this year, showing an improvement of 480.5 billion won in operating profit and loss compared to the same period last year (sales of 11.9612 trillion won and an operating loss of 563.1 billion won). CEO Jeong said, "Thanks to all employees doing their best in their respective positions, tangible results are emerging," and urged, "Let us join forces to achieve a meaningful turnaround this year and make the results even more visible next year."

CEO Jeong selected "fundamental cost structure improvement" as the top priority for the second half of the year and emphasized the need to focus on improving quality and yield. He particularly stressed, "Cost innovation is a condition for survival, and quality is the basis of customer trust in our company." It is interpreted that he highlighted the need to secure business competitiveness by accelerating cost innovation in the second half, given the expectation of challenging external conditions such as tariff fluctuations, slowing consumption, and intensified competition.

CEO Jeong also announced plans to accelerate the revitalization of the internal organizational culture. As part of the organizational culture campaign for the second half of the year, 'Compliment Day' will be implemented, and on the last Thursday of every month, a culture of sincerely complimenting seniors, juniors, and colleagues will be fostered. CEO Jeong said, "Let us create a culture of compliments and mutual respect."
