Check Directly for Personal Information Leaks
SK Telecom, which recently experienced a large-scale hacking incident, began offering a personal information leak inquiry service on July 28.
On this day, SK Telecom posted a notice titled "Personal Information Leak Inquiry Guide" on the T World website, allowing customers to directly check whether their information had been leaked.
After verifying their name, date of birth, and mobile phone through authentication, customers can check whether their mobile phone number, subscriber identification number (IMSI), two types of USIM authentication keys (Ki/OPc), and 21 other types of internal company management information have been leaked.
The inquiry is based on phone numbers that were leaked as of April 18, 2025, which was identified as the point of information leakage according to the results of the joint public-private investigation team. Customers under the age of 14 can check whether their personal information was leaked by visiting a T World store or customer center with the required documents.
SK Telecom explained that, following the hacking incident, it has been completely blocking network access by illegally cloned USIMs and devices using the Abnormal Authentication Blocking System (FDS 2.0). The company added that it is preventing damage from USIM cloning and theft both domestically and internationally through the USIM protection service, and is also offering various methods of free USIM replacement.
SK Telecom stated, "So far, there have been no confirmed cases of secondary damage caused by this incident," and added, "Please be cautious of phone calls or text messages impersonating SK Telecom to prevent secondary damage resulting from misuse of the incident."
