DS Danseok, a resource circulation energy company, announced on the 28th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute for technological development in the fields of Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactors (MMR).
The event, held at the DS Danseok headquarters in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, was attended by approximately 10 key executives and staff members, including DS Danseok Chairman Han Seungwook and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute Director Shin Hocheol.
The areas of cooperation include: ▲ Technological collaboration in the SMR/MMR sector ▲ Technological cooperation in energy convergence technologies and smart net-zero city development ▲ Establishment of a mutual cooperation system through technical personnel exchanges and seminars.
Shin Hocheol, Director of the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute, stated, "This MOU with DS Danseok represents a meaningful collaboration where the technological capabilities of a public institution and the commercialization capacity of a private company meet in the field of small modular reactors." He added, "By integrating our differentiated strengths, we expect to create a synergistic effect that will drive growth for both companies."
Han Seungwook, Chairman of DS Danseok, emphasized, "DS Danseok aims to become a global resource circulation energy company that fulfills its corporate responsibility for a sustainable environment," and added, "We will actively pursue technological cooperation and exchanges with the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Central Research Institute on our journey to establish a net-zero city."
