Preparation for Summer Vacation Season...
Focus on Slaughter Dates and Employee Health Certificates
According to the city on July 28, this inspection targeted 305 establishments responsible for livestock product hygiene, such as pork and ribs, which are expected to see increased demand during the summer vacation season. The establishments were selected at random.
In particular, priority was given to businesses that had received administrative penalties recently or had not been inspected in the past three years. For thorough inspections, honorary livestock product hygiene monitors and Namwon City officials conducted joint inspections.
Additionally, some distributed livestock products were collected to conduct DNA identity tests. The inspections focused on verifying that imported livestock products were not being falsely sold as domestic products, that slaughter dates were not being falsified, and that temporary employees hired during the peak season had undergone health examinations. Livestock product handling businesses were also required to reconfirm the health certificates of temporary employees.
A city official stated, "We will conduct thorough hygiene inspections to prevent any problems with livestock product hygiene during the summer vacation season, and we will do our best to create a safe and healthy dietary environment for citizens."
