According to the city on July 28, the purpose of these programs is to help citizens preparing for the second act of their lives to independently design their own paths, and furthermore, to lay the foundation for restoring relationships and participating in society.

"50+ Life School" is a regular program focused on self-reflection for middle-aged and older adults who wish to look back on their lives and explore new directions. The curriculum includes ▲film appreciation ▲self-exploration through physical expression ▲understanding economic life ▲meditation and emotional recovery ▲creating a roadmap for the later stages of life.

Additionally, "Adult School Season 2," which is run alongside, is an applied program with a more practical and creative curriculum, centered on emotional recovery, fostering citizenship, and social practice.

In particular, the goal of Adult School is to encourage continuous social contribution through future community activities. To this end, the program is structured around participatory learning, including ▲facilitation ▲AI-based activities ▲planning school trips based on self-governing associations.

Above all, while these two courses are differentiated in their respective objectives and content, they are designed to be interconnected, providing a flexible learning system that allows participants to make autonomous choices according to their interests and life direction.

Any citizen aged 50 to 64 residing in Jeonju City can apply for this regular semester program, which will be held from September to November. Registration is available on a first-come, first-served basis through the Jeonju Lifelong Learning Center website.

Kim Sunok, head of the Lifelong Learning Division, stated, "The 50+ generation is still a generation with ample potential for growth and challenge. This '50+ Life School' and 'Adult School Season 2' are important opportunities to redesign the latter half of life through learning and to live a meaningful life."
