This council meeting was organized as a practical platform for cooperation and communication to confirm the tangible outcomes of projects implemented since Dongducheon City was designated as a pilot area for the Education Advancement Special Zone on February 28, 2024, and to prepare for outstanding performance evaluations in the future.
Officials from the Future Education Promotion Institute of Dongducheon City and the Education Department of the Dongducheon Yangju Office of Education participated in the meeting.
Yang Hyekyung, Director of the Future Education Promotion Institute, stated, "Dongducheon City and the Dongducheon Yangju Office of Education have been united in promoting projects to improve residential conditions through regional educational innovation," and added, "We will continue to strengthen collaboration between the local government and the Office of Education, and will make active efforts to produce tangible results through ongoing monitoring and feedback."
Meanwhile, since being designated as a pilot area for the Education Advancement Special Zone, Dongducheon City and the Dongducheon Yangju Office of Education have held regular meetings every Friday to share project progress, and have faithfully implemented project plans through appropriate collaboration and division of roles.
