In the case of vehicle operation positions (driver positions) at Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation, 5 out of the 8 selected were graduates of KIU Railroad Academy, accounting for more than half of all successful candidates.

Additionally, 3 trainees were hired for inspection and operation positions, demonstrating strong performance in employment at Daegu urban railway organizations.

This is considered a remarkable achievement, especially given the highly competitive selection process for driver positions, which had an average competition rate of 66.4 to 1.

Furthermore, trainees have secured employment at major railway organizations across the country, including 22 at Korea Railroad Corporation, as well as at Seoul Metro, Busan Transportation Corporation, and Airport Railroad, further proving the outstanding employment competitiveness of Kyungil University Railroad Academy.

Park Junhyeong, a fourth-year student in the Department of Railroad Studies who was recently hired as a vehicle operator at Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation, stated, "Thanks to the practical, hands-on education and systematic training, I was able to approach the exam with confidence. I am very happy that my efforts have led to such a positive result."

Hong Seunghwal, Director of KIU Railroad Academy (former President of Daegu Metropolitan Transit Corporation), said, "This valuable achievement is the result of the dedicated guidance of our faculty and the passion of our trainees. We will continue to do our best to establish ourselves as a top-level educational institution nationwide by fostering excellent engineers who possess both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, based on real-world experience."

Established in 2019, KIU Railroad Academy has produced 746 graduates to date. Currently, 60 trainees are undergoing intensive practice in an educational environment identical to real-world field conditions.

Students enrolled in railroad-related majors receive 12 weeks (454 hours) of vocational training, which includes hands-on driving practice, simulated operation training, emergency response procedures, and field training.

General trainees receive 19 weeks (697 hours) of combined theoretical and practical training, covering railway-related laws, urban railway systems, the structure and functions of electric trains, and driving theory, alongside practice-focused vocational education.

KIU Railroad Academy is raising the quality of its education with the goal of nurturing professionals who can be immediately deployed to the railway industry. It has established itself as a customized educational institution for both students and the general public preparing for employment in the railway sector.
