Actor Lee Byunghun will serve as the host for the opening ceremony at the Busan International Film Festival, which will be held in September. On the 28th, the festival organizers announced, "He will be the first-ever male solo host in the festival's history," and added, "He will reinforce the symbolism and significance of the festival as it marks its 30th edition."
Celebrating his 35th year since debut, Lee Byunghun is a leading actor representing Korea. He has consistently demonstrated a strong presence through films such as "Inside Men" (2015), "The Man Standing Next" (2020), "Concrete Utopia" (2023), and "The Match" (2025). Recently, he gained global recognition by appearing in the Netflix series "Squid Game." He also showcased his voice acting skills in the Netflix animated film "K-Pop Demon Hunters" and the Korean animation "King of Kings."
The 30th Busan International Film Festival will be held for ten days starting from September 17 in the area around Busan Cinema Center.
