The Gwangju Regional Veterans Affairs Office announced on the 27th that it had inspected the flood damage to the home of a national merit recipient residing in Damyang County, Jeollanam-do, which was recently declared a special disaster zone due to heavy rainfall.
Mr. Jeong, a wounded veteran living in Mujung-myeon, Damyang County, Jeollanam-do, suffered damage when the nearby river overflowed, flooding the house where he and his spouse reside. He is currently staying at a relative's house in Okgwa-myeon and is working hard to recover from the damage.
Kim Seokki, the head of the office, stated, "We will consider various support measures, including disaster consolation funds and housing repair assistance, so that the families of veterans affected by the heavy rain can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
