Record-Breaking Recruitment: Seoul to Add 1,200 More to 'Value Co-Working Jobs' Program

Targeting Neulbom Schools, Kindergartens, and Welfare Facilities
For Seoul Citizens Aged 40 to 67... 3-Month Activity Period

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on July 27 that it will recruit an additional 1,200 participants for the 'Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs' program in the second half of the year. After selecting a record-high 5,700 participants in the first half, the city plans to deploy a total of 6,900 people to the field by adding these new recruits in the second half.

The 'Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs' program is Seoul's flagship social contribution employment initiative that utilizes the experience of the middle-aged in various sectors such as public services, education, and welfare to provide high-quality services to citizens. It also serves to offer sustainable opportunities for social participation and economic activity to the middle-aged population.

This additional recruitment was decided because the demand for middle-aged personnel in public facilities across Seoul, such as elementary schools and kindergartens, continues to rise, and social interest in safety is increasing.

Selected participants will be assigned to sites that require care and safety, such as elementary Neulbom Schools, public and private kindergartens, and community welfare facilities. In particular, the focus will be on hands-on care and safety roles for a 'Safe City Seoul,' including guiding elementary school students during arrival and dismissal, assisting with kindergarten meal care, and supporting the operation of community welfare facilities.

The city plans to deploy approximately 300 people to Neulbom classrooms in elementary schools, 550 to public and private kindergartens, about 100 to elementary schools, and 250 to community welfare facilities, totaling 1,200 participants. Recruitment will take place from July 28 to August 11, and any citizen aged 40 to 67 who either resides in Seoul or whose workplace is located in Seoul may apply. Applicants will be selected through a document screening process after eligibility review based on age and residence, and will receive a monthly activity allowance of 571,710 won during the activity period.

Jung Jinwoo, Director of Lifelong Education at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, stated, "We have decided to deploy an additional 1,200 people in response to the needs of sites requiring support from the Middle-aged Value Co-Working Jobs program," and added, "We hope that the experience and capabilities of the middle-aged will create value in care and welfare settings and contribute to realizing a 'Safe City Seoul.'"
