According to the Seoul Metropolitan Government and other sources, at around 8:00 a.m. on this day, a water pipe near a construction site in Bukahyeon-dong burst.
As a result of this incident, water leaked out and some soil was washed away; however, there were no casualties or property damage.
The leak occurred because a 20-centimeter diameter water pipe, installed in 1983, had deteriorated over time, resulting in a rupture of approximately 10 centimeters in diameter.
The Seoul Metropolitan Government immediately began repair work, and to facilitate this, about 450 households in the surrounding area experienced a temporary water outage due to valve adjustments.
The city also conducted cleaning and water quality inspections. As no issues were found, normal water supply resumed at around 7:35 p.m.
To minimize inconvenience for residents caused by the water outage, the city urgently provided five water tank trucks and approximately 7,200 bottles (2L each) of bottled Arisu water.
