On July 26, the South Gyeongsang Provincial Government announced that the Central Joint Investigation Team from the Ministry of the Interior and Safety will begin on-site inspections of heavy rain damage in the South Gyeongsang region starting July 27.

Led by the Director of the Disaster Recovery Support Bureau of the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, approximately 100 officials from central government ministries, the provincial and municipal governments, and private sector experts will conduct a thorough investigation into the heavy rain damage in cities and counties of South Gyeongsang until August 2.
The Central Joint Investigation Team will inspect all state-managed facilities where damage occurred, as well as local government-managed facilities where the estimated damage exceeds 30 million won and the restoration cost exceeds 50 million won. The team will also verify the accuracy of private facility damage assessments conducted by city and county governments.
The Central Joint Investigation Team will comprehensively review whether the damage and restoration cost estimates are appropriate and will establish a restoration plan during August.
Between July 16 and July 19, heavy rainfall caused significant damage, mainly in western South Gyeongsang, including Sancheong County, Hapcheon County, Hadong County, Uiryeong County, and Jinju City.
As of July 26, the South Gyeongsang Provincial Government reported that 1,743 public facilities?including roads, rivers, water supply and sewerage systems, and sports facilities?as well as 954 houses, were either flooded or destroyed and partially destroyed by landslides.
