The Korea Startup Forum has expressed its welcome for Han Seong-sook's appointment as Minister of SMEs and Startups.
On the 25th, through an official statement, the Korea Startup Forum said, "Minister Han Seong-sook, as a former IT (information technology) entrepreneur, is the most suitable person to effectively connect policy and the field in this rapidly changing era of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology-driven growth."
The forum added, "We deeply empathize with Minister Han's commitment, as stated in her inaugural address, to 'design real growth for SMEs and startups through technologies such as digital and AI.' We also have high expectations for her clear presentation of the national strategy's direction toward becoming an AI powerhouse and achieving technology-driven growth."
The Korea Startup Forum stated, "As Minister Han emphasized, startups are once again confirmed as the core growth engine of Korea. We hope that policy support and the creation of a practical institutional environment to back this will be promoted with speed. We also ask for continued attention to the tasks of strengthening public sector-startup cooperation, rebuilding systems centered on startups, and supporting global scale-ups, all of which are essential for reinforcing the innovative startup ecosystem and have been consistently raised by the industry."
The forum further stated, "The Korea Startup Forum will transparently share the vivid voices and data from the startup field so that Korea can become an AI powerhouse and achieve real growth, and we will work closely with the newly appointed Minister of SMEs and Startups, Han Seong-sook."
