Global K-star and "Nation's Little Sister" IU has been appointed as the honorary ambassador for the Incheon Airport Customs Office.
The Korea Customs Service announced on July 25 that an appointment ceremony for IU as honorary ambassador was held at the Millennium Hall of Incheon Airport's Terminal 1.

IU has gained worldwide recognition through her HEREH world tour and the drama "You Have Done Well." In particular, she is regarded as a leading celebrity who exerts a positive social influence through various charitable activities.
The Incheon Airport Customs Office of the Korea Customs Service plans to leverage IU's recognition as a K-star and her positive influence to raise public interest in customs administration and to widely promote the agency's activities to the public.
At the appointment ceremony, IU said, "It is an honor to be appointed as the honorary ambassador for the Incheon Airport Customs Office," and added, "During my time as ambassador, I will do my best to promote proper declaration of travelers' belongings and to inform the public about the prohibition of illegal items, as well as to support all related promotional activities."
Lee Myunggu, Commissioner of the Korea Customs Service, stated, "I would like to thank IU and her agency for gladly accepting the appointment as honorary ambassador for the Incheon Airport Customs Office despite her busy schedule," and added, "With the appointment of the new ambassador, I hope that customs policies will become more familiar and approachable to the public."
