Building Consumer Trust Through High-Quality Standards
On July 25, Chungnam Province announced that its representative rice brand, Cheongpungmyeongwol Gold, won first place in the regional specialty rice category at the "2025 Korea Consumer Trust Leading Brand Awards" ceremony held at The Plaza Hotel in Seoul. With this award, Cheongpungmyeongwol Gold has achieved the honor of winning for 13 consecutive years.
First launched in 2012, Cheongpungmyeongwol Gold was created as a brand to upgrade the quality of Chungnam rice and ensure fair pricing, and has firmly established itself as a leading national rice brand.
To enhance brand credibility, the province is focusing on developing programs and supporting farms for the cultivation of a single variety, Samgwang, as the raw grain.
The Chungnam Regional Headquarters of Nonghyup is in charge of trademark management and sales, while the Provincial Agricultural Technology Institute produces and distributes standard cultivation guidelines and is thoroughly managing quality control.
Cheongpungmyeongwol Gold uses only the highest grade Samgwang rice produced through contract farming, and only high-quality rice that meets strict standards?such as protein content of 6.0% or less and a perfect grain ratio of 94% or higher?is shipped, earning the trust of consumers.
The province plans to systematically foster not only Cheongpungmyeongwol Gold but also city and county representative rice brands centered on the Samgwang variety, further expanding brand trust in the national market.
Lee Jeongsam, Director of the Provincial Bureau of Agriculture and Livestock, stated, "Winning for 13 consecutive years is more than just a record; it is a valuable achievement created by the passion of farmers and related organizations," and added, "We will continue to strive to be recognized as the top rice brand based on quality and trust."
