Ulsan Northern Fire Station: "We Ensure Safety at Sinmyeong Beach"

Full Deployment of Water Rescue Volunteer Firefighters Until End of August
All-Out Efforts to Prevent Accidents

Ulsan Northern Fire Station has deployed 35 volunteer firefighters to Sinmyeong Beach in Buk-gu until August 31, 2025, as part of a full-scale effort to ensure the safety of vacationers and prevent water-related accidents during the summer season.

The deployed personnel consist of 18 water rescue specialist volunteer firefighters and 17 general volunteer firefighters.

They will be carrying out field-centered preventive activities, including beach patrols, management of life-saving equipment, guidance in hazardous areas, and emergency response.

An official from the Northern Fire Station stated, "Most water-related accidents begin with minor carelessness," emphasizing that "the most important factor is for vacationers to voluntarily follow safety rules."

The official also urged vacationers to "strictly adhere to the following water safety guidelines."

◆Water Safety Guidelines

▲Always warm up before entering the water; never enter the water after drinking alcohol ▲Do not overestimate your swimming ability; avoid deep or rough waters ▲Make wearing a life jacket a habit; children must always be accompanied by a guardian ▲Check weather conditions frequently; do not enter restricted or dangerous areas ▲In case of emergency, immediately call 119 and seek help from those nearby

Sinmyeong Beach has seen a yearly increase in vacationers, raising concerns about safety accidents. In 2022, there were 35 safety interventions; in 2023, there was 1 rescue and 16 safety interventions; and in 2024, there were 4 rescues and 62 safety interventions, indicating active and ongoing response efforts each year.
