On July 24, the city of Ansan held an opening ceremony for the "Village Community Comprehensive Support Center" and officially began its operation, as announced on July 25.
The center, built with one basement level and four above-ground floors, was established to create an integrated support system for communities to address and resolve various everyday issues at the village level, such as education, youth, seniors, and residential environment.
On the first floor of the center, the "Raon Cafe" is operated by senior citizens who have completed barista training as part of a senior employment program. On the second floor, an exhibition conveying the values of diversity and coexistence within the community was held.
To commemorate the opening, the third floor featured interactive booths and exhibitions planned and operated by organizations selected for this year's village-making resident proposal contest. In the experience space, small workshop activities such as natural soap making, leather card wallet crafting, and pouch printing were held. In the exhibition space, the process and progress of each community's contest project activities were introduced.
On the fourth floor, the Ansan City Residents' Autonomy Association and community groups operated a variety of programs, including exhibitions, hands-on activities, and sharing events.
To use the center's meeting rooms, multipurpose hall, or lounge, applications can be made through the Ansan City integrated reservation system website or by contacting the center directly.
Lee Minguen, Mayor of Ansan, said, "I hope the center becomes a warm place for communication, where people can discuss village issues together and share stories of life."
