Kumho Tire (CEO Jeong Iltaek) conducted a "Free Tire Inspection Campaign" over two days, July 22 and 23, at the Gwangju City Hall Outdoor Music Hall.

According to Kumho Tire on July 24, this campaign was organized as an expression of apology to citizens who suffered direct and indirect damage due to the fire accident at the Gwangju factory.

Kumho Tire, together with tire experts and by deploying specialized equipment, carried out thorough inspections of tires for visiting citizens.

Despite the intense heat wave with temperatures exceeding 36 degrees Celsius, a total of 255 inspections were conducted over the two days. Specifically, there were 110 air pressure checks, 76 TPMP sensor inspections, 10 balance checks, 52 tire rotations, and 7 puncture repairs. Citizens who visited the site received consultations related to tires, as well as arm sleeves, wet wipes, beverages, and discount coupons.

Although the free tire inspection at Gwangju City Hall has ended, it will continue at 26 Tire Pro locations in the Gwangju area until July 31. The 26 participating branches are: Gwangsan, Gwangju Airport, Dosan, Sochon, Suwan, Cheomdan, Cheomdan District, Hanam, Gwangju Terminal, Nongseong, Sangmu, Pungam, Sotae IC, Maegok, Bonchon Industrial Complex, North Gwangju, Bukdong, Yangsan, Ochi, Yongbong IC, Chonnam National University, Junghung, Namgu Wolsan, Baegun, Jinwol, and Namgwangju. Citizens can visit between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

For those who left for vacation without having their tires checked, experts will also be dispatched to highway rest areas. From July 31 to August 1, booths will be set up at Gapyeong Rest Area (toward Chuncheon), Yeoju Rest Area (toward Gangneung), Jeongan Albam Rest Area (toward Suncheon), and Haman Rest Area (toward Suncheon). Citizens visiting these locations between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. can receive free tire inspections.

A Kumho Tire representative said, "We would like to express our gratitude once again to everyone who visited this campaign, which we prepared with a sense of appreciation and apology," and added, "With the peak vacation season approaching, we hope citizens who wish to have their tires inspected will visit the Gwangju area Tire Pro locations by July 31 to receive a free inspection."
