On July 23, the Daegu Veterans Office, together with the Darakbang Volunteer Group in Gimcheon, visited the homes of national merit recipients, delivered homemade samgyetang and cooling blanket sets, and checked on the health conditions of the elderly.

One elderly recipient expressed gratitude, saying, "I was exhausted from the consecutive heatwaves, but the home welfare services and visits from the Veterans Office have given me great strength."

The Veterans Office has been swiftly assessing heatwave response situations whenever weather advisories are issued, and has continued to check on the safety and well-being of elderly veterans through home welfare officers. In particular, starting from the last week of July, the office plans to personally visit about 100 households vulnerable to the heat, deliver support items, and inspect their living conditions.

Kim Jongsul, Director of the Daegu Regional Office, stated, "As we are concerned about the health of veterans' families during the ongoing heatwave, we will do our utmost in cooperation with the local community to ensure they can have a safe and healthy summer."
