The Korea Rail Network Authority has stepped up to support recovery efforts in areas affected by heavy rainfall.

On July 23, the Authority announced that approximately 200 employees from its headquarters and six regional branches?Chungcheong, Metropolitan Area, GTX, Gangwon, Yeongnam, and Honam?voluntarily participated in flood recovery activities in areas impacted by the heavy rains on July 22 and 23.

By region, Chairman Lee Seonghae, Labor Union Chairman Lee Seongjae, and employees from the headquarters and Chungcheong branch, together with the Chungnam Volunteer Center, visited villages in Seosan and Yesan in South Chungcheong Province that suffered severe flood damage. They engaged in environmental cleanup activities such as removing mud and debris, and restoring flooded roads and farmland.

The Metropolitan Area, GTX, and Gangwon branches worked with local governments in Uijeongbu and Gapyeong in Gyeonggi Province to deliver emergency relief supplies?including daily necessities and small home appliances?directly to households affected by flooding, and provided laundry support for clothing and bedding.

The Honam and Yeongnam branches visited flood-affected villages in Buk-gu, Gwangju, and Ulju-gun, Ulsan, to help restore living environments by cleaning and sanitizing flooded household items and inspecting the safety of water, electricity, and gas facilities.

The Authority also donated relief funds worth 15 million won to help residents in flood-affected areas return to their daily lives.

Going forward, if there are emergency requests for support in affected areas, the Authority plans to actively consider deploying heavy equipment needed to remove damaged large structures such as farm sheds and greenhouses, as well as providing additional relief funds.

Chairman Lee Seonghae stated, "I would like to extend my deepest condolences to those who have suffered from the record-breaking rainfall," and added, "The Korea Rail Network Authority will continue to mobilize all available resources to support flood recovery efforts so that affected residents can return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
