HUG Declares "Eradication of Power Abuse"... Busan Public Institutions Including Korea South-East Power and KAMCO Join

Heads and Employees of Five Public Institutions Participate

Public institutions in the Busan region have come together to make a joint declaration to eradicate power abuse.

Korea Housing & Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) announced on the 23rd that it recently held a "Joint Declaration Ceremony to Eradicate Power Abuse" together with five member public institutions of "Cheongnyeom Wave" at the Busan International Finance Center (BIFC) in Nam-gu, Busan. The event was attended by over 200 people, including HUG President Yoo Byungtae, heads of the participating institutions, and mid-level managers.

Cheongnyeom Wave is an ethical management council of Busan-based public institutions that was launched in June 2024. Five institutions participate: HUG, Korea South-East Power Co., Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO), Busan Port Authority, and Korea Fisheries Resources Agency. The council aims to share best practices in ethical management among the institutions and to spread a culture of integrity throughout the local community.

The declaration ceremony began with a calligraphy performance symbolizing "creating a wave of integrity." Following this, the heads of each institution took the stage and signed a joint declaration to foster a fair and transparent organizational culture, expressing their strong commitment to action both internally and externally.

Afterwards, star lecturer Kim Mikyung delivered a special lecture for mid-level managers on the theme of "Eradicating Power Abuse." She emphasized the importance of communication and respect within organizations, as well as healthy leadership, resonating with the participants.

Yoon Myunggyu, Head of Management Strategy Headquarters at HUG, stated, "With this declaration as a starting point, we will further strengthen ethical management cooperation among institutions," and added, "We will take the lead in establishing a clean public service culture free of power abuse."

HUG plans to continue internal training for the internalization of integrity and to carry out activities to spread ethical culture in the local community.
