Determined to Prove His Skills at the Utah Championship
Experience from the 2011 PGA Tour
Bio Kim is once again taking on the challenge of competing on the U.S. stage.
On July 31 (local time), he will participate in the PGA Korn Ferry (second division) Tour Utah Championship, which will be held at Ogden Golf & Country Club in Ogden, Utah. The total prize money for the event is $1 million. This is a meaningful step toward advancing to the PGA Tour. The Korn Ferry Tour serves as a gateway to the PGA Tour, and it is a stage where promising players from around the world compete.
Bio Kim has consistently challenged the PGA Tour in the past, demonstrating his potential on several occasions. In particular, he played in 25 tournaments on the PGA Tour in 2011, finishing in the top 25 five times. His personal best result was a tie for 11th place at the Puerto Rico Open in March 2011.
Bio Kim has competed in numerous Korn Ferry Tour events and has made the cut and achieved high rankings in some tournaments. He is a leading player on the Korea Professional Golf Association (KPGA) Tour, where he has collected a total of six victories.
Bio Kim is taking advantage of a break in domestic tournaments to participate in the Korn Ferry Tour. This year, the KPGA Tour completed its first half schedule with the KPGA Gunsan CC Open on June 29. The second half will begin with the Dong-A Membership Group Open at Gangnam 300 CC in Gwangju, Gyeonggi Province, on August 28. Bio Kim stated, "I have always had the desire to challenge myself on the U.S. stage. Through this opportunity, I want to prove my skills once again."
