The Presidential Office announced on July 22 that it had rejected the vacation request submitted by JinSook Lee, Chairperson of the Korea Communications Commission.

In a statement released that day, the Presidential Office explained, "Chairperson JinSook Lee's vacation request was submitted to the Presidential Office at 1:44 p.m. on July 18," and added, "Chief Presidential Secretary Hoonshik Kang determined that it was inappropriate for the head of the Korea Communications Commission, who serves as the control tower for disaster broadcasting, to take leave during a severe disaster response phase, and therefore rejected the vacation request."

Regarding this, Presidential Office Spokesperson Yoojeong Kang stated, "The vacation request was rejected because today was the scheduled date for presidential approval," and clarified, "Regular vacation requires the approval of the President." However, the procedure for rejecting the vacation request was handled by Chief Secretary Kang, not by President Jaemyung Lee.

Spokesperson Kang also announced that on July 21, the first day of distribution, some of the livelihood recovery consumption coupons were traded on certain secondhand transaction websites.

Spokesperson Kang stated, "If the livelihood recovery consumption coupons are resold or converted into cash, the entire or partial amount of the subsidy may be reclaimed in accordance with the Subsidy Management Act," and added, "Relevant ministries, including the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, have requested online secondhand trading platforms to delete such posts and to provide guidance prohibiting resale."
