The "Regionally Linked Win-Win (Gyeonggi Agreement-Based)·High-Tech Specialized High Schools" are Gyeonggi's future-oriented vocational education model schools. They foster industrial talent and drive regional growth through five pillars: super-regional cooperation (local governments), super-industrial linkage education (corporations), super-field-based education (provincial office of education), super-class flexibility (schools), and super-close linkage (universities).
The "Agreement-Based Specialized High Schools" are vocational high schools operated by the Ministry of Education based on agreements among local governments, industries, and the provincial office of education to reflect regional industrial demand. This year, Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School was selected as one of 10 schools nationwide, taking the lead as a base school.
On this day, more than 150 stakeholders, including Superintendent Im Taehee, Gyeonggi Provincial Government, Gyeonggi Provincial Council, Gyeonggi Institute of Science and Technology Promotion, Gyeonggi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Agreement-Based Specialized High School Consortium, Gyeonggi Agreement-Based·High-Tech Specialized High Schools, and education support offices for future-oriented vocational education pilot districts, attended the event and reaffirmed their commitment to building a regional-centered vocational education ecosystem.
The provincial office plans to establish a sustainable vocational education ecosystem by fostering organic cooperation among more than 100 vocational high schools, local governments, companies, and universities in the province through Gyeonggi's future-oriented vocational education model schools, pilot districts, and agreement-based specialized high schools.
Superintendent Im stated, "Watching today's explanation of the future of specialized high schools, I felt both pride and excitement," and added, "While Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School may serve as one model, I hope this occasion will be meaningful in setting a new direction for all specialized high schools."
He continued, "I hope vocational education at specialized high schools will become a source of dreams for students. I will support and implement policies so that the unique feature of specialized high schools?learning while working and creating a new future on their own?can become a good model."
Superintendent Im also said, "I sincerely hope and support all students at Gyeonggi Automotive Science High School to grow as talents who will lead the global future mobility automobile sector along with their personal development. I applaud all students who will be responsible for the future at specialized high schools, and look forward to the various policy directions to be pursued by agreement-based specialized high schools and pilot districts gaining consensus and shining brightly."
