Letters Sent to 90 Broadcasting and Video Production Companies
Promoting the Unique Filming Locations Highlighting the Heritage of the Daegaya Kingdom
Goryeong County in North Gyeongsang Province (Governor Lee Namcheol) is taking proactive steps to establish itself as a central hub for film and video production in South Korea, befitting its status as a UNESCO World Heritage city and the historic capital of the Daegaya Kingdom.
The county's public relations team announced on July 22 that it had sent letters to approximately 90 broadcasting and video production companies nationwide, introducing Goryeong County's outstanding filming locations.
The letter highlights that Goryeong County, which preserves the brilliant history of Daegaya, is a region where the past and present, nature and tradition, coexist in harmony. It also includes photos and materials of major filming sites to help producers visually understand the locations.
The Jisan-dong Tumuli in Goryeong has already attracted attention as a filming site for various dramas and video content, including the popular variety show "2 Days & 1 Night." In addition, locations such as the Daegaya Living Village and the Daegaya Historical Theme Park offer attractive backdrops suitable not only for period dramas but also for modern dramas, fantasy, and a wide range of genres.
A county official stated, "We plan to continue promoting Goryeong County as an optimal location for broadcasting, film, and video production," adding, "We will spare no effort to make Goryeong County the center of film and video production in South Korea by respecting creators' artistic intentions and strengthening administrative support such as location coordination."
