Goheung County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Gong Youngmin) announced on July 22 that the first round of the 'Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon,' which began nationwide on July 21 to revitalize the stagnant local economy and boost sales for small business owners, is being smoothly distributed.
For this first round, Goheung County is providing consumption coupons ranging from a minimum of 200,000 won to a maximum of 450,000 won per person. Residents can apply to receive the coupons until September 12. Since the call center opened on July 15, there has been a steady stream of inquiries, reflecting the high level of interest among county residents.

On July 21, Governor Gong Youngmin visited the Goheung-eup Office to inspect the on-site operation status and encourage the staff on duty. He also urged residents to actively use the consumption coupons by the end of November to help revitalize the local economy.
One resident who received the consumption coupon expressed gratitude and anticipation, saying, "The Livelihood Recovery Support Fund provided by Goheung County in March was also very helpful for daily life, such as purchasing agricultural supplies. I plan to make good use of this Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon for family dining and other purposes."
This Livelihood Recovery Consumption Coupon can be chosen in the form of a local gift certificate, credit or debit card, or prepaid card, and can only be used within the address listed on the resident registration.
Except for certain restricted business categories, the coupons can be used at local affiliated stores such as supermarkets and traditional markets, as well as at business locations with annual sales of 3 billion won or less. As this initiative was introduced to promote economic recovery and boost sales for small business owners, it is expected to serve as a catalyst for revitalizing the stagnant local economy.
A county official stated, "We plan to begin on-site distribution visits starting July 28 and aim to complete distribution to more than 80% of eligible recipients by early August. We hope that every eligible resident will apply without exception."
