Galaxy Z Fold7 and Flip7 Set New Foldable Pre-order Record with 1.04 Million Units Reserved

Samsung Electronics announced on the 22nd that it achieved sales of 1.04 million units during the domestic pre-order period for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7, which ran for one week from July 15 to 21. This marks the highest pre-order sales record ever for the Galaxy foldable series.

Previously, the highest pre-order sales record for Galaxy foldables was held by the Galaxy Z Fold5 and Z Flip5 series. The Z Fold5 and Flip5 sold 1.02 million units during a one-week pre-order period in August 2023.

The pre-order ratio for the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 was calculated at 60% and 40%, respectively. This year, the proportion of fold model pre-orders increased from around 40% last year to 60% this year.

Industry experts attribute the strong pre-order performance of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 to their slim design and the convenience of Galaxy AI. The Galaxy Z Fold7 measures 8.9mm thick when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded, with a weight of 215g. This is similar to standard bar-type smartphones. The device also features a 21:9 aspect ratio, providing a user experience comparable to bar-type smartphones.

The Galaxy Z Flip7 features a bezel of approximately 1.25mm on the front display (Flex Window), increasing the screen size from 3.4 inches to 4.1 inches. Designed to fit comfortably in one hand, it offers enhanced portability and ease of use.

For the Z Fold7, Jet Black and Blue Shadow were the most preferred colors. For the Z Flip7, Blue Shadow and Coral Red proved to be the most popular choices.

Meanwhile, more than half of customers who pre-ordered through Samsung.com subscribed to the 'New Galaxy AI Subscription Club.' The New Galaxy AI Subscription Club is a subscription program that, upon purchasing an unlocked Galaxy Z Fold7 or Z Flip7, offers up to 50% guaranteed residual value when returning the device after one year, Samsung Care Plus smartphone damage coverage, and a 30% discount coupon for genuine mobile accessories.

The Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 will be released sequentially worldwide starting July 25, beginning with South Korea, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Pre-order customers can receive and activate their devices starting on the 22nd.
