Chosun University announced on the 21st that its startup club, the 'Enactus BUZZLY Team,' won third place at the recently held '2025 Enactus National Competition (NC).' This award marks the team's second consecutive achievement, following their third-place finish at the Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance Seed Competition in May.
The NC is the largest national startup idea competition held every July, sponsored by 12 companies including Hyundai Marine & Fire Insurance and organized by Enactus Korea. At the competition, Enactus teams from 26 universities across the country compete fiercely, presenting business solutions aimed at solving social problems.
This year's competition featured more than 40 judges, including startup CEOs, entrepreneurs, and Enactus alumni, who evaluated each project based on feasibility, impact, and sustainability.
The BUZZLY Team demonstrated their capabilities by advancing through the preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds, ultimately placing third overall, surpassing major universities such as Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Korea University.
The team's 'BUZZLY' project was designed to address the serious agricultural issues of declining bee populations and damage to beekeeping farms through an eco-friendly, microorganism-based mite control solution. The project secured technological feasibility through practical demonstration experiments and on-site validation.
The team's economic model, based on repurchase and conversion rates, as well as their global strategy for entering overseas markets, received high praise and were recognized for their potential to expand into a real business.
Han Yeo-jin, president of Enactus at Chosun University and founder of the 'BUZZLY Project,' who studies Environmental Engineering at Chosun University, said, "Because our project focused on demonstration and experimentation, we faced many challenges, but we were confident we were creating real social value. Moving forward, we will continue to grow as a sustainable business and take on even more social challenges."
