General Insurance Social Contribution Council Supports Recovery of Flood Victims Affected by Heavy Rains

The General Insurance Social Contribution Council announced on July 21 that it will provide approximately 1 billion KRW worth of temporary housing facilities and 50 million KRW in relief funds to support the recovery and rehabilitation of flood victims affected by the recent heavy rains.

The council decided to promptly donate 50 million KRW in relief funds through the Korean Red Cross to support the restoration of facilities in affected areas such as Sancheong in South Gyeongsang Province, Seosan and Dangjin in South Chungcheong Province, and Gapyeong and Osan in Gyeonggi Province, as well as to provide daily necessities for disaster victims and ensure housing safety for vulnerable groups.

In the future, through consultations with the National Disaster Relief Association and local governments, the council also plans to support up to 15 units (worth approximately 1 billion KRW) of "Hope House," a temporary housing facility for those who have lost their homes, to help stabilize their living situations.

Byungrae Lee, Chairman of the General Insurance Social Contribution Council, said, "I would like to express my condolences to everyone who has suffered, including those who have suddenly lost their homes due to the heavy rains," and added, "I sincerely hope that everyone can return to a safe and normal daily life as soon as possible."
