Customized Promotion for Over 400 Tourists at Frankfurt K-Tourism Roadshow
Gilt-bronze Incense Burner Pop-up Book Experience Draws Huge Popularity
Chungnam Province has launched efforts to attract European tourists by promoting the "2025-2026 Visit Chungnam Year" in the heart of Frankfurt, Germany.
The Chungnam Provincial Office in Germany announced on the 21st that it participated in the "2025 Germany K-Tourism Roadshow," which was held at Rossmarkt Square in Frankfurt from the 18th to the 20th local time, to showcase the province's tourism appeal.
This event was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization. European visitors to the site were able to directly experience a variety of Korean Wave content, including K-Travel, K-Pop, K-Food, and K-Culture.
The province operated a "Visit Chungnam Year" promotional booth, providing customized consultations that included information on major tourist attractions in Chungnam, recommended courses for each destination, and seasonal specialty content.
In particular, the province attracted attention by encouraging natural participation from visitors through activities such as a card matching game, postcard decorating, and a tourism quiz event.
The activity that captivated families was a pop-up book making experience themed on the "Gilt-bronze Incense Burner," a symbol of Baekje culture.
A provincial official explained, "Beyond simply viewing, we aimed to spark interest in Chungnam’s traditional culture by allowing participants to engage in hands-on creation."
During the event period, presentations introducing "Chungcheongnam-do" and the "Visit Chungnam Year" were given to about 400 people, helping to establish the name Chungnam among Europeans.
The province plans to strengthen its activities not only in tourism and culture but also in exports, investment, and international exchanges, centering on its office in Germany and six other overseas offices.
A provincial official stated, "We will ensure that Chungnam’s overseas offices serve as comprehensive global platforms, not merely as economic hubs," adding, "We will also focus on enhancing international competitiveness in the fields of tourism and culture."
